Nina Barraco is a researcher who resides in Detroit, MI. She holds a BA in Art and Design from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan, where she concentrated in graphic design and printmaking, and a minor in Art History. Nina has always had an interest in interdisciplinary work and has garnered experience in a wide range of disciplines, from art conservation to archaeology and anthropology. Her diverse background constantly informs her work as a researcher and visual artist.

Outside of her work as a researcher, Nina volunteers as a literacy mentor for a local sixth grader, as well as with an art therapist helping to facilitate group therapy experiences at a nearby nonprofit that supports children. Whether it’s through community service, her bartending gig, or her recreational soccer team, Nina exercises an affinity for working with people and bringing her creative and observational skills to their service.
